Print Product Store Account Greyed Out

Several users have said that they are unable to print from the iOS or iPadOS device because the Print option is greyed out when using an AirPrint-enabled printer trying to print a document even though the printer appears in the Print window. This problem may affect many iPhone or iPad models. This problem causes the setting or the button to Print to appear "greyed out" or "dim". This article explains how you can fix this problem.

Some users have said that they experience this AirPrint problem when they want to print in apps such as Safari, Mail, Photos, etc.

Print is greyed out

Please try the steps below until your problem is fixed.

Try these steps first

  • Make sure that your printer, Wi-Fi router/modem, and iOS or iPadOS device are close to each other. If needed, move your printer closer, your mobile device to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Make sure that your iPhone or iPad and your printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi connection.
  • Ensure that Airplane Mode is turned off on your iPhone or iPad.

Restart

Restart everything in this order:

  • Restart your Wi-Fi router: Unplug it from its power outlet. Wait 30 seconds. Then plug it back in.
  • Restart your printer: Turn off the printer by pressing the power button (if available). Then unplug the power cord. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the printer back in and power it back on.
  • Restart your iPhone or iPad.

Wait a few minutes for all devices to start functioning. For example, wait at least 2-3 minutes for your printer to join the network.

Then try to print again.

Update

Update your devices:

  • Update your Wi-Fi router and printer with the latest firmware. Manufacturers release new firmware versions for enhancements or issue fixes. If you do not know how you can update your router or printer, contact the manufacturers.
  • Ensure that your iPhone or iPad has the latest version of the iOS or iPadOS software. You can check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Reset network settings

If you are still having this issue then try to reset network settings on your device. Please note that doing so will ease all of your Wi-Fi networks, passwords, VPN settings. Here is how:

  • On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
